2010/2011 FAIR QUEEN STATEMENT
Being the 2010-2011 Modoc County Fair Queen was an impacting privilege that I am thankful for having. While attending the Modoc Fair, The Lake County Roud-Up, the Lassen, Tulelake-Butte Valley and Intermountain Fairs and participating in several parades, I learned how to present myself positively and meet many new people interested in Modoc County.
At these fairs, I was able to personally meet country music performers like The Eli Band and Joe Nichols along with so many great people I may not have met otherwise. I realized that representing Modoc County is an honor because people really like to see youth getting involved in their communities and travel to other places, especially in Modoc where the involvement and care coming from youth is dwindling.
This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I thank Page’s Market and Surprise Valley Rotary for being my sponsors.
I hope that the support for opportunities like being the Modoc County Fair Queen, will continue from our businesses, organizations, community members, Fair Board and families, so future Fair Courts have the chance to receive as much as I have from this experience.
