Modoc District Fairgrounds

The Modoc District Fairgrounds was established in 1933 in Cedarville, Ca.

In 2015, the Modoc District Fairgrounds was facing closure due to lack of funds. The Modoc District Fair Board and the community rallied to keep the Modoc District Fairgrounds in the community.  The Modoc Heritage Foundation was established as a non-profit to support the efforts of the Modoc District Fair Board. Through a Memorandum of Understanding, the Modoc Heritage Foundation agreed to organize the annual fair event which has allowed the Fair Board to concentrate their efforts to reduce expenses and improve efficiency.

Currently, the Modoc District Fairgrounds has no staff and is operated and maintained by Fair Board Directors, partner agencies, and volunteers.

The Modoc District Fair Board would like to thank each person in the Modoc County community who has made this journey possible. We have a long way to go but are moving towards a path of sustainability. We hope to keep the Modoc District Fairgrounds available for many generations to come.
